David and Julie Brown

Location: Paris, France

Commissioned: 2002

Since 2002, David and Julie Brown have ministered among immigrants seeking refuge in Europe. Many of these immigrants come from sub-Saharan Africa, where immense poverty, civil war, ethnic strife and drought have led thousands to leave their home countries in search of a better life.

Most journey toward Europe, where they hope to find jobs and earn money to support their families back home. For those who survive the dangerous journey and reach Europe, they discover that finding work is often difficult. Many struggle with basic needs, leaving them among Europe’s most neglected and vulnerable populations.

In 2010, the Browns moved to southern France, where they ministered among refugees, undocumented immigrants, documented immigrants and the Muslim community. They are committed to working with French churches, helping them to open up to the immigrant population, particularly in developing relationships with the Muslim community. Along with their work with French churches, the Browns worked with immigrant churches and with outreach to the Muslim community to develop a better understanding of Islam and promote interfaith dialogue.
The Browns now live in Paris, France, where they lead Mosaic, a ministry dedicated to connecting French Protestant Churches with international and immigrant congregations to form community.
