Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Commissioned: 2015
David and Lauren will come alongside the Cambodia Baptist Union in its dramatic church planting efforts. The Basses' vision is to help equip Cambodian churches to engage their communities holistically through developing and implementing a church leadership program for pastors and church planters and through exploring opportunities for economic development.
David is primarily helping to equip those called to plant churches with training resources for facilitating new church starts and training for new Cambodian pastors. Lauren's primary focus is exploring ways for business and economic development to play a role in addressing basic needs within Cambodian communities. These roles together allow them to discover sustainable practices in partnership with Cambodian pastors and their communities.
David and Lauren are excited to join in the church planting movement in Cambodia as it matures from new and dynamic to deep and sustainable.

Commissioned to begin mission service: 1995
Adams serves in New York City, working alongside Greater Restoration Baptist Church in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn and Metro Baptist Church in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, one of New York’s most transitional neighborhoods.
The churches reach out to the community in a variety of ways, such as distribution of toiletry kits and clothes to the homeless as well as serving low-income families through a food pantry, health education, discounted counseling services, English classes and after school programs. Adams helps facilitate these ministries and connects Fellowship partner churches with service opportunities.
Adams also partners with several housing communities that serve the HIV/AIDS community in New York. Each week he travels to three communities, leading Bible studies, building relationships and providing pastoral care.
“My passion and what I love the most is providing pastoral care to that community,” Adams said. “It’s been a difficult journey, but an incredible journey. I’ve ushered many people into the kingdom in their last days.”
